You can expect a pretty packed month of games releases in November, seeing as both Microsoft and Sony are wheeling out their lineup of console launch games on top of an already full third-party release schedule.Īs to be expected, the biggest names in gaming headline the month, with new entries in franchises like Assassin's Creed, Call of Duty, and Spider-Man. Microsoft's Xbox Series X/S and Sony's PlayStation 5 are releasing on November 10 and 12 respectively, so excitement around the games industry couldn't be any higher than it is now. It is, though, very much a Call of Duty game.November is nearly here, which means the next-generation of consoles is about to begin. In single player, you'll be running from cover to cover, shooting baddies (with some changes, such as the removal of health regeneration and instead a reliance on health packs and medics. Set in Europe, on the Western Front, it's very much a Call of Duty game. While recent Call of Duty games have been going further and further into the future, with sci-fi weapons and technology, they're now going back to the past, to its roots in WW2 warfare.ĭeveloped by Sledgehammer Games, the team behind Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 (alongside Infinity Ward) and Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare, it's the first Call of Duty game to be set in WW2 for almost a decade. The biggest release for this week, and this first major title to come out in November, is Call of Duty: WW2. Call of Duty: WW2 - November 3, PS4, Xbox One, PC The original Bubsy games didn't really have much charm or substance, and this new entry seems to be at least somewhat self aware in that regard. But here we are, apparently a new Bubsy game is coming out.ĭeveloped by Black Forest Games, developers behind Giana Sisters: Twisted Dreams (and clearly developed to be similar in gameplay and visual style), Bubsy: The Woolies Strike Back is a platformer where you, as Bubsy, must collect yarn and get your revenge on the Woolies for stealing all the yarn. If you had said in 1996, when the last Bubsy game came out, that the next Bubsy game would be releasing in 2017, you'd be laughed out of the room. The game did suffer somewhat from this random selection, lacking the hand-crafted nature of a specifically written story, but it's a great concept nonetheless, with interesting RPG combat.īubsy: The Woolies Strike Back - October 31, PS4, PC (Out today!) Who the traitors are is randomly selected, so each playthrough would be different, and there's no way to see how the story would go as it could be any of the characters. Travelling up five floors of a pillow, the player must deduce who of the eleven characters is a traitor, and kill them: choose the wrong person, and an innocent character will be killed, changing the story. Developed by Lancarse, what makes the game interesting is how it combined RPG elements with the style of a visual novel. This title originally came out in 2015 for the PlayStation 3 and PS Vita (in Europe and America, anyway, it came out in Japan in 2014), but is now getting a PC release at the hands of publishers Ghostlight. Lost Dimension - October 30, PC (Out now!) There's also the return of a franchise that had its last release in 1996, which is going to certainly be an interesting day. In case last week's series of releases, which made up what will likely be the biggest day in games for 2017, wasn't enough to take up all of your free time, yet another AAA release is coming this week, with a few RPGs to sink your time into coming alongside it.
